Parish Catering

St. Gerard's parish community is in the enviable position of being able to utilise the skills of many competent cooks in a special ministry where they regularly utilise their proficiency and expertise.

We cater for regular parish social events such as the St. Patrick's Day Dinner Dance and the Melbourne Cup Luncheon, as well as for special needs -e.g. the Parish Coffee Shoppe during our annual Christmas Festival.

Recently we have hosted three supper evenings, catering for 70 people at each sitting, and, when requested, we can also provide hospitality on the Church veranda's for gatherings after baptisms, weddings and funerals.

A very important role is the provision of morning tea every Sunday after 8.30am Mass, providing a pleasant environment for parishioners to socialise and chat.

For those involved, the catering ministry is a very rewarding one, involving not only our cooking expertise, but also love, care and attention.
