Parish Catering

St. Gerard's parish community is in the enviable position of having many competent cooks who contribute their skill, proficiency and expertise in a special hospitality ministry.

A very important role is the provision of morning tea every Sunday after 8.30am Mass, providing a pleasant environment for parishioners to socialise and chat. Catering is also provided for regular parish social events such as the Melbourne Cup Luncheon, as well as for special needs -e.g. the Parish Coffee Shop during our annual Christmas Festival and Jumble Sale. When requested, hospitality may be provided on the church verandahs for gatherings after baptisms, weddings and funerals.

For those involved, the catering ministry is a very rewarding one, involving not only using cooking expertise but meeting the needs of others with love, care and attention.
