Triple 'C' Club
The Triple 'C' Club which stands for Coffee, Chat and Craft is an informal group of 35-40 ladies who meet each week on Thursday between 10 am and 12 pm for morning tea and support with some craft. We are a warm and caring group of ladies each with different gifts and talents. Some of us come along just to watch, to give support, while others like to be more involved. Along the way many friendships have developed which give great pleasure to all.
The Triple 'C' Club commenced on the 6 November 2003 with 14 members and since its inception we have been instrumental in raising money for various charities. In 2005 we hosted Australia's Biggest Morning Tea for cancer research and raised $600.00. Twice yearly the club has given donations to our local St. Vincent de Paul Society for their Winter and Christmas Appeals. Recently at a talk given by Fr. Walley Dethlefs, a donation of winter scarfs, beanies, jumpers and blankets were kntted by the ladies and given to Fr. Walley with a monetary donation to assist those in need.
Some activities undertaken by the Club:
Stamping, card making, scrapbooking, bead and jewellery making, making of Christmas decorations, knitting, crochet, sewing and a six week calligraphy course.
It was with great pride last year that the ladies presented Fr. Gerard with a beautiful Scrapbook recording the past events and celebrations at St. Gerard's for posterity. Many long hours went in to its preparation and will be continued as a record of our history at Chermside West. Each year we offer support and assistance with our Parish Jumbo Jumble Sale and pride of place is our very own and very successful Plant Stall.
Over the past two years we have had many exciting guest speakers;

The Triple 'C' ladies radiate love and happiness and we continue to play a vital role in our Parish Community in giving emotional support to those who have recently lost a partner or family member. Those experiencing difficulty with illness or injury, or an ongoing problem are welcome regardless of religion or ethnicity.
Our Motto: Live well, laugh, love and learn.
The Cost: $2 for morning tea. We have also instigated a Gold Lotto Syndicate playing a System 8 Game regularly at a small cost of $1 per member per week. When the "BIG WIN" arrives we are going to hire our own plane and jet off over seas on a world trip. .... or so we all dream....
